Participant Waiver
Read this before you move with us.
This is the advance review copy of the assumption of risk and release required for Happy Mat Club physical activities.
Last updated August 20, 2026
1. Voluntary participation
I understand that participation in Happy Mat Club is voluntary. Event activities may include guided breathwork, stretching, low impact mat movement, group fitness instruction, walking around the venue, and the consumption of food and nonalcoholic beverages.
2. Risks of the activities
Physical activity carries inherent and other risks that cannot be fully eliminated, even when reasonable care is used. These may include muscle, joint, or bone injury; strain or sprain; slips, trips, falls, or collisions; dizziness, fainting, shortness of breath, or cardiovascular events; aggravation of an existing condition; exposure to communicable illness; and allergic or other reactions to food or beverages. Equipment, surfaces, other participants, venue conditions, and my own actions may contribute to these risks.
3. Health acknowledgement
I am responsible for deciding whether I am able to participate safely. I will consult a qualified medical professional before participating if I have a health concern, am pregnant, am recovering from injury, or am unsure whether an activity is appropriate for me. I will tell the instructor of relevant limitations, follow safety instructions, use equipment as directed, work within my own limits, and stop immediately if I feel pain, dizziness, faintness, or unusual discomfort.
4. Assumption of risk and release
In consideration for being allowed to participate, I knowingly and voluntarily assume the risks described above and the risks ordinarily associated with the event activities. To the fullest extent permitted by California law, I release and agree not to sue Happy Mat Club, MOVNET, the identified event organizer, instructors, event staff, venue owners and operators, sponsors, and their respective officers, employees, contractors, and agents for claims arising from my participation, including claims based on ordinary negligence.
This release does not apply to gross negligence, recklessness, intentional misconduct, or any liability that California law does not permit a person to waive.
5. Emergency assistance and personal property
If I need urgent assistance and cannot provide instructions, I authorize event staff to contact emergency services. I understand that I am responsible for any resulting medical costs. I am also responsible for my personal belongings and understand that the event team is not responsible for ordinary loss, theft, or damage except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
6. Conduct and removal
I will follow reasonable instructions from instructors, venue staff, and event organizers. The organizer may limit or end my participation if my conduct appears unsafe, disruptive, unlawful, or harmful to others.
7. Photography is handled separately
Event photography or video is not part of this liability release. Any event specific media consent or notice will be presented separately during registration or check in so that it is clear what permission is requested.
8. Age, governing law, and electronic signature
I confirm that I am legally able to sign for myself. If the applicable event permits a minor to attend, a parent or legal guardian must complete the required consent. The final waiver is governed by California law and will be interpreted as broadly as that law permits. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. An electronic signature and consent checkbox have the same intended effect as a handwritten signature where permitted by law.
9. Acknowledgement
By signing the final event waiver, I confirm that I have read it, understand that it affects legal rights, have had the opportunity to ask questions or seek legal advice, and sign freely and voluntarily.
Questions before registering may be sent to zuzanna@joinmovnet.com.
